Well, he is not a rare case as research says that a greater percentage of today’s modern generation is addicted to the internet.


Here are some tips that will help you overcome you internet addiction disorder:

First of all, it is important that you admit your addiction to the internet. It is common nowadays and there is nothing to be ashamed of.

Limit your computer time –

Internet addiction is similar to being addicted to smoking or alcohol. With a myriad of interesting content over the internet, it is difficult to get rid of this habit. But reduce your usage to only when it is required. Keep your laptop out of sight. Also for your mobile phones and tablets, keep it inside a drawer or your closet. Use it only to make calls or check important e-mails. Delete all those apps that are of no use to you like game apps and multiple social media apps. The lesser the apps, the less time you’ll be spending on your phone or laptop.


Give importance to family time –

You must understand the difference between family relationships and virtual relationships. Don’t browse your phone over dinner time. Maintain a strict rule at home. Dinner time should be meant t spend time with family. Don’t answer any calls or emails, unless and until it is very important. Keeping your phone at the dining table will tempt you to check your social media feeds and one will lead to the other.


Find creative hobbies for your leisure time –

Leisure time doesn’t define unlimited indulgence to social media or virtual reality. Find a hobby that is not related to cell phones, iPhones, iPads or laptops. Stay off online games.
