The bane of modern foods like pizza, pasta, burgers, noodles, deep fried items etc. is that they cause a lot of issues like heartburn, irritable bowel, constipation, flatulence and acidity. While other causes also can be an untimely and delayed intake of food, too much food, eating too fast, having wrong combinations of food like having tea right after a meal, or alcohol in empty stomach etc.
A person who indulges in any of these types often must face such problems. And often, we find ourselves in the middle of the night while we have these issues.
And that is when you find your own kitchen doubling up as an instant pharmacy, bailing you out from the impending trouble. The modest Indian kitchen has several items which we use in our daily cooking.
Here I am giving some examples of it:
1. cumin seeds - jeera
2. fennel seeds - saunf
3. carom seeds - ajwain
4. cinnamon - dalchini
5. Ginger - adrak
Some of the Wonder Herbs that Act as carminatives and Antacids:
One can have quick jeera, fennel or ginger water that’s made by simmering the herb in water for 20 to 30 minutes reducing the amount of water to half quantity and having the filtered solution.
Take 1 teaspoon jeera, 1 teaspoon saunf & handful of mint. Boil it together in half a liter of water. now let the water cooled down. It's time to strain & drink by mixing it with water.
Take 1 teaspoon of Ajwain, 1 teaspoon of jeera & boil it with half a liter of water. Strain it 7 add black salt & lemon to it in your desired & required quantity.
People who go to work can have this as a replacement for their regular tea or coffee and get the full benefits to settle their stomach that is called the second brain of our body. There is another option of eating ajwain with black salt which is the age-old household remedy. This grandma remedy can be stored as a dry mix in an airtight jar and used during emergencies. This is safe even for a toddler in smaller doses. Now, do we need more explanation as to why you find most of these in mouth fresheners?
