1. Lower your blood pressure
One of the highest risk factors for a heart stroke is high blood pressure. It doubles your risk of getting a heart attack even at a young age if not controlled properly. You can go to a clinic and get your blood pressure checked at regular intervals. Alternatively, you can also buy a digital blood pressure machine and check your vitals at home. Here are some ways to control your blood pressure:
- Control the salt intake in your food. Limit it to no more than half a teaspoon.
- Avoid burgers, ice-creams or cheese and other foods that are rich in cholesterol content.
- Quit smoking.
- Exercise at least 30 minutes a day
- Eat a balanced diet with fruits and veggies, fish, fiber and dairy.
