It’s the time when all of us right from actors to your favourite sports personalities to your friend or family think of making changes in their habits. Yes, I call it a habit because only changing your daily routine won’t help unless we make it a habit.  Let’s, see how we can indulge in these habits: 

Get yourself moving

yes, I don’t say it as exercise because of course, it sounds boring to anyone. Start practising yoga, dancing to your favourite tunes, a simple walk or even cleaning your house, taking your pet for a walk, playing with kids and I can go on and on. This will help you in loving yourself and making you healthier.

Stay hydrated 

 water, water everywhere! Our body is of 60% water, earth surface has 71% of water and now even mars have signs of water. So, why shy away drinking water is the best way to remove all the toxins from your body. About 8-9 glass (2-3 litres) of water will keep you well hydrated and cool your body.

Never skip breakfast 

 our lives are so busy that most of us forget the most important part of our meal. Breakfast is given this name for a reason it’s breaking your fast after 6-7 hours of sleep. Studies have proven that eating breakfast makes your brain work better and keeps calmer.

Indulge in hobbies 

it’s not that we never had any hobbies, being in school, college we always had indulged ourselves in hobbies. But, with this fast pace of life, it’s gone for a toss. So, why lose that we already had made time and give yourself a sense of relaxation by taking up hobbies.

Eat your greens 

start eating greens it’s not only a good source of Vitamin- C but contains fibers and provides anti-oxidants that help you boost your immune system.

Say yes to nuts and welcome good fats 

fats are good and bad, so kick out the fats that you consume in your comfort food like burgers, fries, pizzas, chips etc and start snacking on nuts like walnut, almonds, sunflower seeds, and flax seeds. These contain omega-3 that reduce the risk of heart disease, improve immunity, reduce infections and is good for joint.

Avoid sugar

sugar is often considered the sweet poison. We know that it can cause diabetes, lead to obesity, cancer and heart diseases. That doesn’t mean take artificial sweeteners it’s always good to stick to natural sources. Therefore, eating jaggery, palm sugar and honey are the best options.

Beauty Sleep 

sleeping at a proper time and a sound sleep of 7-8 hours is the best gift you can give to your body. This will help in calming your mind, reduce risks of hypertension and strokes and will keep a check on weight.

Stick to your roots

 with modernization taking its toll on us we have forgotten what the practices our mother and grandmothers followed. Like eating your dinner before sunset or maximum by 8 pm was even practised in ancient times. Using your regular oil like ghee, mustard, coconut is a great source of vitamins and good fats.     

Find an alternative

 using more whole grains than refined grains like maida, highly polished rice. Using brown bread instead of white bread, wheat flour instead of maida, brown rice or less polished rice, using ragi, barley, jowar are good options to provide fiber and helps in reducing blood sugar levels.
